Entry Guidelines.

General
  • Seniors age 60 and over are invited to submit artwork.
  • Only original artwork is accepted.
  • Entries only accepted from the following mediums:
    • acrylics
    • collage
    • glasswork
    • oil paint
    • pastels
    • pen & ink
    • charcoal
    • photography
    • fiber art
    • sculpture
    • watercolor
    • woodworking
    • mixed media
  • There is no fee and this is not a juried show.
Preparing Artwork
  • A label must be placed on the back of artwork with artist's name and contact number.
  • All 2-dimensional entries must be mounted, matted or framed, and ready to hang with wire securely on the back.
  • All work must measure no more than 36 inches in any direction or weigh more than 50 pounds.
Artist Information
  • During the exhibition, information about you and your artwork is displayed on a note card beside your piece. This includes your biography and your phone number if your artwork is for sale.
  • Your biography should be brief and written in third person. It may include information such as your inspirations, your artwork, or your background with the creative arts, etc.

  • Deliver Artwork: Artists deliver their artwork the Monday prior to the exhibition between 9:00am and 11:00am.

  • Pick Up Artwork: Artists pick up their artwork the Friday after the exhibition between 9:00am and 11:00am.

    If you are unable to pick up your artwork at the designated time, you will need to pick it up at:

Reception Event
  • The Reception Event is held the first Thursday of the exhibition at the Finley Center from 1:00pm - 4:00pm. The Reception features senior artists demonstrating their work, light refreshments, and music.

Disclaimer

The Senior Art Show and the City of Santa Rosa reserve the right to disqualify entries that they consider unacceptable or inappropriate for a public exhibit, or which do not meet the size requirements.

Every attempt will be made to preserve, secure and protect each entry submitted; but neither the County of Sonoma Human Services Department, its programs nor the City of Santa Rosa can be held responsible for damage or loss of art entries. The placing of art in the exhibition constitutes an agreement on the part of the entrant to conditions herein set forth. The County of Sonoma Human Services Department reserves the right to publish, for publicity purposes, reproductions of the entries.
